The BasketLigaen is the first-tier professional basketball league in Denmark. BasketLigaen was established in 1957.
The BasketLigaen sits above the 1st Division which effectively forms the second-tier of Danish basketball.
At the end of regular season, top 4 teams qualify to the play-offs.
The bottom 2 teams are relegated to 1st Division.
Limits of non-Danish players per team: 2 import players (non-Europeans), 10 Bosman players (with European passport) . Total number of allowed imports and Bosmans is 0.
