IC are Danish Champions 2006 !!! Horsens IC finally made it to the very top of Danish Basketligaen as they beat Bakken Bears in 4th game of the finals 78-70, ending the series 3-1. It was their 4th title in club history, while the previous one was 8 years ago in 1998. Horsens were trying to get the title already for last two seasons. But despite winning regular season in 2004, they lost in the finals to Aarhus. Last year they entered play-off seeded No.2. But they lost in the semifinals to SISU. This season did not look too promising. End of regular season on 3rd position did not look too promising. Even worse in the quarterfinals, where they lost a game to much lower ranked Svendborg. But the end of play-offs was way more exciting as they passed easily Amager with 2-0 in semifinals and in the finals allowed just a single victory to regular season champion Bakken Bears. The MVP of the final game was Monta McGhee (202-F-79, college: Lewis), who together with other American at Horsens roster - Spencer Ross (181-G-81, college: Queens, NC), scored more than hals (43) of team points.
