Virum celebrated the Dameligaen title. They overcame Horsholm in a dramatic fifth game of the championship series to capture the trophy. It was a seesaw action from start to finish. The 79ers stayed in charge throughout the first half. Horsholm led 14:12 ten minutes into the game. They extended the lead at 9-point mark at the interval 18:27. But Virum went on a strong 18:8 run in the third period to surge ahead. Horsholm erased the deficit in the fourth period and forced overtime. Nevertheless Virum came out winners. They held the 79ers to just 4 points in the extra period and got away with the key victory. Gillian Abshire (179-G-93, college: Quinnipiac) paced the champions with 20 points and 8 rebounds.

Lemvig Basket earned the Danish Cup title. They toppled Virum Go Dream in the Final in Horsens today. Sarah DeShone, college: Ferris St.) notched 20 points to pace the winners. Virum eked out a narrow 21:19 lead ten minutes into the game. Lemvig and Virum went neck and neck throughout the second term. Virum accounted for a narrow 35:34 halftime lead. They stayed in front throughout the third term. Virum established a 2-point lead heading into the fourth frame. However Lemvig turned things around in the final quarter. They ignited a 23:10 run in the period and raced to a comfortable win at the end. Erin McDonnell (185-F-93, college: Harvard) chipped in 16 points, while Kayla Bernsen (190-C, college: W.Washington) had 13 points and 7 boards in the victory. Nikoline Oestergaard (183-F-92, college: Quinnipiac) responded with 18 points and 8 caroms for Virum. Ellen Iversen (180-F-97) chipped in 11 points in the loss.
