Dameligaen Round 5 (Regular Season): Aabyhoj beat Amager by two after a very close game

The most exciting game of round 5 in the Dameligaen took place in Kastrup. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 5th ranked Amager (1-4) to second ranked Aabyhoj (4-1) 67-65 on Saturday evening. Aabyhoj dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Amager's 24. They outrebounded Amager 46-34 including 32 on the defensive glass. orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. contributed with 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Isabella Palmqvist answered with 20 points for Amager. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Aabyhoj have a solid series of four victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Falcon. Amager at the other side keeps the fifth place with four games lost. They share the position with Herlev. Aabyhoj is looking forward to face Horsholm (#4) on the road in the next round. Amager will play against Horsholm and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An interesting game for SISU (3-2) which hosted in Copenhagen 4th placed Horsholm (2-3). Third ranked SISU had an easy win 105-71. stepped up with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and Rim Taha chipped in 22 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 10 steals (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Emilie Borges-Michaelsen responded with 22 points and 9 rebounds. Horsholm's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. SISU maintains third place with 3-2 record behind leader Falcon. Newly promoted Horsholm keeps the fourth position with three games lost. SISU will play against bottom-ranked Herlev (#6) on the road in the next round. Horsholm will play against Amager and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Herlev lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with four games lost. They share it with Amager. Falcon will meet Amager (#5) in the next round. Herlev will play against SISU and hope to win that game.

Dameligaen top team - Falcon (4-1) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat sixth ranked Herlev (1-4) 77-62. Falcon forced 24 Herlev turnovers. nailed 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and accounted for 16 points and 10 rebounds. Four Falcon players scored in double figures. Victoria Lundin came up with 21 points and 7 rebounds and Lina Praestegaard added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Herlev in the defeat.
