The European Women's Basketball league have excluded Russian and Belarusian clubs from the competition, as of March 1, 2022, due to the ongoing and escalated war against Ukraine. EWBL thanks Tsmoki Minsk, Horizont Minsk, Olimpia Grodno, Peresvet SFEDU, Nika Syktyvkar and BC Samara for their commitment and contribution to the game we love. We do not blame any of the Russian and Belarusian athletes. We support every player, especially Russians and Belarusians, who bravely stated their position against the war - like Ekaterina Gamova and Yelena Leuchanka. The next steps concerning the continuation of the EWBL season will be announced at a later date.
