RSU - SBS Ostrava 78-61 The game in Riga was also worth to mention about. 4th ranked Czech SBS Ostrava (2-5) played at the court of fifth ranked Latvian RSU (2-4). RSU did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 78-61. It was a key game for the second position in the league. RSU outrebounded SBS Ostrava 53-32 including a 21-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. RSU brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Mara Mote (178-2000, college: Arizona) who helped to win the game recording 24 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Luize Septe (180-1999, college: S.Florida) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 blocks for the winners. American power forward Anacia Wilkinson (188-1997, college: Tenn Tech) replied with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks and Eliska Kubickova (174-2003) added 11 points in the effort for SBS Ostrava. SBS Ostrava's coach tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. RSU moved-up to second place, which they share with TTT Riga and Siauliai. SBS Ostrava lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. RSU's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Riga to the arena TTT Riga. The biggest surprise took place in Klaipeda where host Lithuanian Neptunas (3-3) beat league's leader Latvian TTT Riga (2-4) 89-83 on Saturday evening. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Neptunas forced 19 TTT Riga turnovers. 26 personal fouls committed by TTT Riga helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Point guard Dalia Donskichyte (169-2000) fired 30 points and 6 assists for the winners. Lithuanian point guard Agne Cerneckyte (173-1996) chipped in 12 points and 4 assists. Forward Gunta Basko-Melnbarde (182-1980, college: Siena) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Kate Karlina Kreslina (184-1996, college: Fordham) added 22 points, 6 assists and 4 steals respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. TTT Riga's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Neptunas maintains first position with 3-3 record. TTT Riga lost third consecutive game. Defending Latvian champion dropped to the second place with four games lost. They share the position with RSU and Siauliai. They were replaced at the leadership position by Polonia W-wa. TTT Riga will play next round against strong RSU trying to make it back to the top of the standings. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will face at home their local rival from Riga - RSU. Neptunas will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked SBS Ostrava on the road.
