Swingman Krystyna Filevych (182-G/F-1991) put on an amazing game in the last round for second-ranked BK Frank Ivano-Frankivsk, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2.
The 32-year old player had a double-double of 41 points and 14 rebounds, while her team in a lost game to Polonia W-wa (#1, 4-0) 74-86. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Frankivsk maintains the 2nd position in EWBL . Too late to improve their position as they are currently ranked such low. They already lost 4 games and recorded no victories. In the team's last game Filevych had a remarkable 64.3% from 2-point range and got five three-pointers out of 10 attempts. She has many years of experience at Frankivsk, through which she has constantly improved. Krystyna Filevych has solid league stats. She is league's best scorer averaging so far 23.0ppg and leads league in rebounds with 11.5rpg. Filevych is in league's top in assists (9th best: 3.0apg) and averages impressive 58.8% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Katerina Kanova (178-F-1996) of league's leader SBS Ostrava. Kanova had a very good evening with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course Ostrava cruised to a 72-64 relatively comfortable win over Frankivsk (0-4). The season is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Kanova is one of the most experienced players at Ostrava and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Frankivsk's star - Daria Kononuchenko (187-SF-2004). Kononuchenko showcased her all-around game by recording 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the last round. Despite Kononuchenko's great performance the BK Frank Ivano-Frankivsk lost 64-72 to #1 ranked Ostrava. But her team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. Frankivsk can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have awful season losing so far all 4 games. Kononuchenko has individually a great season in EWBL. After only 4 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 13.5ppg (6th best) and rebounds with 5.8rpg (8th best).
