American Forward AJ John (202-F-1996, agency: MSG) had a very impressive game in the last round for RSW Liege Basket, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5.
The 27-year old player had a double-double of 21 points and 14 rebounds, while his team edged out Keila (#14, 1-2) 96-92. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Liege Basket is placed at 12th position in European North Basketball League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Liege will need more victories to improve their 2-1 record. John turned to be Liege Basket's top player in his first season with the team. Former University of California - Davis star has very solid stats this year. John is league's best scorer averaging so far 17.0ppg. John is in league's top in assists (7th best: 3.0apg).

The second best player in last round's games was young Latvian Rinalds Malmanis (206-F-1996) of league's leader Tartu Ulikool Maks & Moorits. Malmanis had a very good evening with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Of course he led Tartu to another comfortable win 97-78 over the lower-ranked Zwolle (#4, 1-1) being unquestionably team leader. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Tartu consolidated its place in the very top position of the standings. His team has extremely good start of the season. They won both games so far. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Malmanis is a newcomer at Tartu, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Tartu's star - forward Kristjan Kitsing (205-PF-1990). Kitsing scored 27 points. He was another key player of Tartu Ulikool Maks & Moorits, helping his team with a 97-78 easy win against #4 ranked Zwolle. Tartu has a very good start of the season. But there were just 2 games played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Kitsing also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. The season just started for Kitsing as he played only first game. But it already looks like he can be another team's leader.
