New Zealand Swingman Aniwaniwa Tait-Jones (198-G/F-2001) had a great game in the last round for top-ranked Valmiera Glass/Vidzemes Augstskola, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 4.
The 24-year old player was the main contributor (23 points, seven rebounds and five assists) to his team's victory, helping them to crush, the league's bottom-ranked team Fyllingen (#7, 0-2) with 18-point margin 93-75. It allowed Valmiera Glass to take over top position in the European North Basketball League. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Valmiera Glass won both games without losing any. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. In the team's last game Tait-Jones had a remarkable 56.3% from 2-point range. He turned to be Valmiera Glass' top player in his first season with the team. Former University of California at San Diego star has very solid stats this year. Tait-Jones is in league's top in points (8th best: 21.5ppg) and averages impressive 2.5spg and 61.5% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Ragnar Agustsson (196-G-2001) of U.M.F. Tindastoll Sauoarkrokur. Agustsson had a very good evening with 28 points and 8 rebounds. Of course he led Tindastoll to another comfortable win outscoring Gimle (#15, 0-2) 125-88. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. But Tindastoll managed to improve slightly their position in standings taking 9th place. His team has extremely good start of the season. They won both games so far. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Agustsson is one of the most experienced players at Tindastoll and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Javonte Johnson (198-G, agency: Elevate Sports Alliance) of Gimle BBK Bergen (#15). Johnson showcased his all-around game by recording 23 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists in the last round. Despite Johnson's great performance the Gimle lost 88-125 to the league's current leader Tindastoll (#9, 2-0). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Johnson has individually a great season in European North Basketball League. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.0ppg (9th best) and rebounds with 10.0rpg (6th best).
