Newcastle Eagles (SLB) strengthened their roster with the addition of 26-year-old USA-Nigerian 201cm forward Gus Okafor (college: Wichita State). He started the season at Penarol in the Argentinian La Liga, where in 6 games he recorded 3.7ppg and 2.0rpg. Last season, he played at ALM Evreux (ProB) in the French league.
He is a very experienced player, having played professionally in Denmark (Naestved), France, and The Basketball Tournament (Midtown Prestige).
He played in the final of the Danish League in 2024.
Okafor graduated from Wichita State in 2023 and it's his third season in pro basketball. He played for other colleges such as Southeastern Louisiana University, Miami Dade College, and Longwood College.
