Finnish Korisliiga round 8 best performance: Hannes Polla (by Hoops Agents)

International Center Hannes Polla (211-C-1998) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for top-ranked Kipina Aanekoski, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 28-year old player had a double-double of 20 points and 13 rebounds, while his team beat Lahti (#8, 3-5) 90-78. It allowed Kipina to take over top position in the Finnish Korisliiga. Kipina have a solid 7-1 record. In the team's last game Polla had a remarkable 58.3% from 2-point range. It was one of impressive evenings for him as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Former University of Tennessee at Martin star has very solid stats this year. Polla is in league's top in rebounds (5th best: 10.1rpg) and averages impressive 1.4bpg and 54.9% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was American Josiah Harris (206-F) of Joensuun Kataja Basket. Harris had a very good evening with 21 points and 8 rebounds. Of course he led Kataja to another comfortable win outscoring Karhubasket (3-5) 101-80. This victory allowed Kataja to move up to 7th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-5 record. Harris is a newcomer at Kataja, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Rene Rougeau (198-F-1986, agency: Blacktop Management) of Helsinki Seagulls (#5). Rougeau showcased his all-around game by recording 14 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Seagulls, leading his team to a 94-92 win against Pyrinto (4-4). Seagulls needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 4 victories and 4 lost games. Rougeau has a very solid season. In 8 games in Finland he scored 15.1ppg. He also has 7.4rpg, 4.1apg, 2.5spg, 1.6bpg, a FGP of 57.1% and 3PT: 47.6%.
