First Quarter Le Mans-Nancy 19-25
First basket of the game scored by Koffi, in an incredible ambiance created by fans of the both teams. Nancy proved it last season, they know how to help their team.Campbell adds a 3pt sho, but is not answered by Zianveni, Le Mans leads 5-0. But then starts the Marques Green show, 4pts to put Nancy in the lead (6-5).Green brings a lot of creation in the game, and has chosen the strategy to play inside, dishing Zianveni for a powerdunk. In addition, he compells le Mans to call a time-out, adding 3pts in a first intention shot. The time-out isn't that useful since, despite a basket for Kenny Gregory, Green (enormous in this first QT) adds 2 more points, as well as Cyril Julian with an And1-basket (17-12). Nancy keeps on playing inside, controlling the rebound thanks to Julian (4rebds) and extends its lead. Zianveni adds another top10 dunk to give Nancy a 9pt lead (the highest so far). Ruzic answers with a 3pt shot facing the rim. The first quarter ends with a 6pt lead for Nancy and a feeling of a domination for the team from Eastern France.
Second Quarter : Le Mans-Nancy 43-44
Like in the first quarter, Le Mans is starting better. A block from Campbell on Julian gives Guice a fastbreak opportunity to come back to a 1pt gap (25-24). Nancy's coach decides to call a time-out very soon in this quarter to stop the run.
The score isn't moving for a couple of minutes until Maurice Bailey adds a trey and Cyril Julian a mid-range shot.Nancy keeps using the same strategy, which is controlling the rebound and try to dish Zianveni or Julian.A little help for Nancy in the center of this quarter is the good period of Dan McClintock. He continues Julian's work on rebound and adds some points in the paint. That doesn't give the right to miss anything for Le Mans. That's why Le Mans cannot take the lead. After another basket in the transition, Le Mans has to call a time-out ( 38-33 for Nancy).
2mins before the end of this quarter, Huseyin Besok  is given his 3rd foul, second bad news since Alain Koff is in the same situation. In this case, Coach Collet can use Ruzic at the 4post. A system thats seems to work since Le Mans scores several baskets on fastbreaks (Gregory, Huseyin Besok  and comes back very close, to only 1pt.The Half-time is reach with a little advantage for Nancy (44-43) but the general feeling is that nobody can take a definitive advantage. At half-time, Green has scored 9pts and dished 5assists, while Zianveni and Julian each grabbed 5rebounds.For Le Mans, the scoring is made ory, excellent in the transition basket that Le Mans uses (12pts) and Huseyin Besok (11Pts) as an alternative.
Third Quarter Le Mans-Nancy 63-65
Tariq Kirksay is the man of the beginning of the 3rd quarter, with 8pts in a row for Nancy. Gregory scores a 3pt but Kirksay is taking all the responsabilites (54-50) and shows who is the leader of the team. Le Mans is definitely not able to take the lead. Each time an opportunity is given, it cannot be converted. Amagou misses 2 FT, Gregory an easy shot, the score isn't moving. Le Mans tries to resist with Huseyin Besok , offering Julian a challenge but Green is back in business with a rainbow shot. That gives Nancy some oxygene after a series of missed shots.
Is the wind changing, Bokolo scores a 3pt at the 24s buzzer from 10 meter. But the answer hasn't to be expected very long (And1 for Zianveni, 61-57).In the last minute of the quarter, the rebounding domination is not as strong as in the first half for Nancy, making the game even more unsettled. But Le Mans seems to be touched by a curse! IMPOSSIBLE to take the lead...The last shot isn't made for Gregory, Nancy keeps a 2pt-gap before the last quater, which is announced as very very exciting.
Fourth Quarter : Le Mans-Nancy 93-88
3pts for Marques Green on the first action, but Le Mans is endly taking the lead. Huseyin Besok is the go-to-guy in the second half and adds another long range shot. This is the first time since an eternity that Le Mans takes the lead. Of course, Coach Monschau doesn't wait and calls a time-out (68-69). Huseyin Besok  is just unstoppable in this quarter. 6pts in a row gives Le Mans their biggest lead of the game (70-75) but Bailey answers, 3pts with..the board.
The Huseyin Besok' show isn't over, 2more points, 3pts for Campbell...Nancy is struggling, and calls another T-0, Le Mans now leads by 7!!At this moment, Le Mans is shooting 8/14 from the 3ptline! Of course, Tariq Kirksay it is the right moment to reappear. 4pts in a row, in his special style, show that Nancy is not dead.Collet has to call a time-out, 77-80 the lead is vanishing! With 2 minutes to go, The tension is enormous...Guice adds a 3pt and makes us forget he had some problems during the season.Le Mans is now smelling the success... A little help by the refs (was it really a charge for Kirsksay?) allows up to keep a 6pt advantage. Last time-out of the game for Nancy, there are still 83 seconds to be played... The end of the game is a slam dunk contest, Nancy is compelled to take desesperate shots and gives Le Mans fastbreaks balls. Gregory adds a tomahawk and a reverse slam to end the game. Le Mans is the 2006 champion, 93-88
