Elikashvili's double-double lands him U22 League Player of the Week award

17-year old center Giorgi Elikashvili (200-C-2009) had a very impressive game in the last round for league's best team BC Iverioni Gori and receives a Hoops Agents U22 League Player of the Week award for round 5.
He had a double-double of 21 points and 14 rebounds, while his team beat Giganti (#13, 0-3), the league's bottom-ranked team 90-85. It allowed Iverioni to consolidate first place in the Georgian U22 League. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Iverioni already had a very good start winning all 4 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Elikashvili had a remarkable 71.4% from 2-point range. It's his second year at Iverioni and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Elikashvili has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (3rd best: 12.7rpg) and averages solid 2.7bpg and 65.5% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Sandro Bardavelidze (186-G-2006) of BC Margveti Tbilisi. He is a guard in his 2nd season at Sokhumi 2. In the last game Bardavelidze recorded an impressive double-double of 20 points and 10 assists. Of course Margveti cruised to a 94-83 relatively comfortable win over the higher-ranked Level Up (#4, 2-1). This victory allowed Margveti to move up to 9th position in Group B. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 1-2 record. Bardavelidze is well-known at Margveti and he already established his position as one of the team's leaders.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Luka Zabakhidze (185-G-2005) of Tbilisi Basket U22 team (#3). Zabakhidze showcased his all-around game by recording 25 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Tbilisi, leading his team to a 90-78 win against the lower-ranked Dinamo (#8, 1-2). Tbilisi started extremely well this year. They recorded 3 victories without losing a single game in Group A. Zabakhidze turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. Zabakhidze has a very solid season. In 3 games in Georgia he scored 16.7ppg.
