Wasserburg German Champion Again!!!

Defeating BG Dorsten (70:62) at home in Game 4 of the final-series in the DBBL TSV 1860 Wasserburg defended the title as German basketball champion and added another trophy to its impressive collection. The Bavarian side had also earned German Cup-honors earlier this season and continued to dominate the league this season.
Wanda Guyton (185-F/C-65, college: S.Florida), who now announced her retirement after an outstanding career at the age of 41, scored 21 points and pulled down 15 rebounds in the last 40 minutes of the season, while Katrina Hibbert (180-G/F-77, college: LSU) added 13 points. Michelle Maslowski (188-F/C-79, college: Drexel) topscored for the visiting team with 19 points. Anna Goerg (190-F-87) had 12.
After falling short in the first encounter of the finals the team of Coach Hans Brei managed to win the next three straight games to claim the fourth German title in a row.
Meanwhile TV Saarlouis finished the season third after defeating Freiburg in the battle for bronze.
