Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Dragons Rhoendorf (15-4) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by third ranked OrangeAcademy (12-7) 84-78. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Dragons Rhoendorf. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. OrangeAcad. made 28-of-37 free shots (75.7 percent) during the game. 29 personal fouls committed by Rhoendorf helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Jervis Scheffs (192-2007) who helped to win the game recording 21 points. Guard Philip Hecker (193-2002) contributed with 11 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American power forward Avery Sullivan (203-1999, college: Lamar) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds for Rhoendorf. Dragons Rhoendorf's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. OrangeAcad. moved-up to second place, which they share with Bball Loewen. Rhoendorf at the other side still keeps top position with four games lost. They share it with Leverkusen. OrangeAcad. is looking forward to face Leitershofen (#7) in Diedorf in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Rhoendorf will play on the road against TSV Troester (#13) in Breitenguessbach and is hoping to win this game.
Very important is a home loss of second ranked Loewen (12-7) against sixth ranked Coburg (11-7) on Sunday night. Host Loewen was defeated by Coburg in a tough game in Erfurt 86-95. It was a great evening for Gabriel Kuku (190-2001) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Sven Lorber helped adding 22 points and 7 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!). At the losing side Paul Albrecht (208-1993) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists. Coburg moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Berlin BG 2000. Bball Loewen at the other side keeps the second position with seven games lost. They share it with OrangeAcad.. Coburg will play against Fellbach (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Bball Loewen will play against FC Bayern 2 (#9) in Muenchen and hopes to get back on the winning track.

It was an exceptional evening for Bryan Battle who led the winners and scored 22 points and 8 rebounds. Branden Maughmer came up with 17 points and 8 assists for Rostock II in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Koeln maintains third place with 14-5 record behind leader Leverkusen. Newly promoted Rostock II keeps the seventh position with ten games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Koeln will meet at home Iserlohn (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Rostock II will play against Ibbenbueren (#14) and hope to secure a win.

Other games in round 19 were not that significant. Schwelm smashed Bernau on the road 94-67. Iserlohn lost to Leverkusen on its own court 73-79. BSW Sixers unfortunately lost to Itzehoe in a road game 73-75. Herford was rolled over Berlin BG 2000 at home 67-97. Ibbenbueren defeated TKS 49ers on the opponent's court 70-62. Rist Wedel was beaten by Wolmirstedt in a home game 84-93. Schwenningen lost to Ludwigsburg on the road 69-82. FC Bayern 2 unfortunately lost to Oberhaching on its own court 71-77. Leitershofen was rolled over Frankfurt Jrs in a road game 56-81. Speyer crushed TSV Troester at home 100-59. Ehingen was beaten by Fellbach on the opponent's court 105-99.
The most impressive performance of 19th round was 32 points and 6 rebounds by Lars Berger of Fellbach.



Group North
Rostock II - Koeln 88-109

The game in Rostock supposed to be also quite interesting. Third ranked RheinStars (14-5) played at the court of 7th ranked Seawolves 2 (9-10). RheinStars smashed Seawolves 2 109-88 on Saturday. Koeln made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Rostock II turnovers and outrebounded them 38-19 including a 15-1 advantage in offensive rebounds. Koeln looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American Bryan Battle (196-1999, college: FHU) who led the winners and scored 22 points and 8 rebounds. Lithuanian Grantas Vasiliauskas (204-1999) accounted for 22 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Five RheinStars players scored in double figures. American guard Branden Maughmer (190-1999, college: Morehead St., agency: Helping Ballers) came up with 17 points and 8 assists and guard Svante Schmundt (188-2001) added 17 points and 4 assists respectively for Rostock II in the defeat. Very important is a home loss of second ranked Loewen (12-7) against sixth ranked Coburg (11-7) on Sunday night. Host Loewen was defeated by Coburg in a tough game in Erfurt 86-95. Coburg players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists. It was a great evening for Gabriel Kuku (190-2001) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Sven Lorber (183-1997) helped adding 22 points and 7 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!). Four Coburg players scored in double figures. At the losing side Paul Albrecht (208-1993) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists and point guard Jan Heber (186-1998) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points, 8 rebounds and 11 assists. Coburg moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Berlin BG 2000. Bball Loewen at the other side keeps the second position with seven games lost. They share it with OrangeAcad.. Coburg will play against Fellbach (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Bball Loewen will play against FC Bayern 2 (#9) in Muenchen and hopes to get back on the winning track.
