ProB Round 20 (Regular Season): Schwelm is defeated by Rist Wedel

The round was exceptionally exciting as three games ended with a tiny margin. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most important game in the last round took place in Wedel between third ranked Schwelm (14-5) and sixth ranked Rist Wedel (12-8) on Saturday night. Schwelm was crushed by Rist Wedel on the road 74-54. It ended at the same time the ten-game winning streak of Schwelm. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Camron Reece (201-1999, college: Talladega) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and Swedish Daniel Johansson (201-1998) who added 15 points during the contest. Rist Wedel's coach Hamed Attarbashi used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. ProB top team - Leverkusen (16-4) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat eleventh ranked Herford (6-14) 86-73. The winners were led by American point guard Trey McBride (188-1997, college: Northwood) who scored that evening 22 points and Kevin Strangmeyer supported him with 8 points and 11 rebounds. Leverkusen's coach Hans-Juergen Gnad let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Even a double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds by naturalized American Shawn Gulley (200-1993, college: Temple JC) did not help to save the game for Herford. The best player for the winners was Kelvin Omojola who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 assists. Marlon Stephan produced 22 points for the hosts. Very expected game in Berlin where 11th ranked Eagles (6-14) were defeated by fourth ranked Braves (12-7) 87-73 on Saturday. Berlin BG 2000 made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Berlin BG 2000 outrebounded Itzehoe 36-24 including a 30-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Berlin BG 2000 looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists.
