American Forward Camron Reece (201-F-1999) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Veolia Towers Hamburg, receiving a Hoops Agents ProB Player of the Week award for round 23. The 24-year old player was the main contributor (25 points, eight rebounds) to his team's victory, helping them to edge out Herford (#13, 7-16) 72-70. Hamburg Towers maintains the 4th position in their group in the German ProB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Hamburg will need more victories to improve their 15-8 record. In the team's last game Reece had a remarkable 57.1% from 2-point range. He turned to be Hamburg Towers's top player in his first season with the team. Former Talladega College star has very solid stats this year. Reece leads league in rebounds with 11.4rpg. Reece is in league's top in and averages impressive 1.3bpg and 59.9% FGP.
The second best player in last round's games was young Canadian Khalil Miller (203-F-1996, agency: Starting 5) of EN Baskets Schwelm. Miller had a very good evening with a double-double of 18 points and 19 rebounds. Bad luck as Schwelm lost that game 67-73 to slightly higher-ranked Leverkusen (#1, 19-4). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in North. Schwelm still maintains its place in the top 3 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team's 16-7 record is not bad at all. Miller is a newcomer at Schwelm, but is already one of team's top players.
Third on the list of top players last round was guard Elias Rapieque (200-G-2004) of ALBA Berlin (#9). Rapieque showcased his all-around game by recording 23 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists in the last round. He was a key player of ALBA Berlin, leading his team to a 80-72 win against TKS 49ers (9-14). The chances of ALBA not to end season at such low position in North, however are less than slim as they have already lost 14 games, recording just nine victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Rapieque could try to bring Bernau's a little bit higher in the standings. Rapieque has a very solid season. In 13 games in Germany he scored 16.2ppg. He also has 5.4rpg, 4.2apg and a FGP of 50.5%.
