Icelandic Division I round 3 best performance: Shawnteanna Tillman (by Hoops Agents)

American Guard Shawnteanna Tillman (160-G-2004) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Thor Thorlakshofn, receiving a Hoops Agents Division I Player of the Week award for round 3.
The 22-year old player was the main contributor (29 points, seven rebounds and seven assists) to her team's victory, helping them to crush Haukar U (#8, 1-2) with 18-point margin 90-72. Thor Th. is placed at 3rd position in Icelandic Division I. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Thor Th. will need more victories to improve their 2-1 record. In the team's last game Tillman had a remarkable 62.5% from 2-point range and got five three-pointers out of 6 attempts. She turned to be Thor Th.'s top player in her first season with the team. Former Coker College star has very solid stats this year. Tillman is league's best scorer averaging so far 34.7ppg. Tillman is in league's top in assists (2nd best: 6.3apg) and averages impressive 6.7spg and 51.9% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Janiya Foskey (184-F-2003) of IR Reykjavik. Foskey had a very good evening with a double-double of 31 points and 17 rebounds. Of course IR cruised to a 78-71 relatively comfortable win over Njardvik 2 (1-2). The season is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Foskey is a newcomer at IR, but is already one of team's top players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 31.0ppg (#3). She also registered 17.0 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was center Darina Khomenska (188-C-2006) of Athena-UMFK Reykjavik (#10). Khomenska scored 17 points and grabbed 19 rebounds (!!!). She was a key player of Athena, leading her team to a 67-59 win against Breidablik (#2, 2-1). The chances of Athena not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 2 games, recording just one victories. With bigger assistance of her teammates, Khomenska could try to bring Athena's a little bit higher in the standings. Khomenska has individually a great season in Iceland. After only 3 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 16.3rpg (2nd best).
