Icelandic Subway League round 17 best performance: Danielle Rodriguez (by Hoops Agents)

Naturalized American Guard Danielle Rodriguez (177-G-1993) put on an amazing game in the last round for second-ranked U.M.F. Njardvik, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 17.
The 32-year old player had a double-double of 25 points and 11 rebounds, while her team beat Armann (#9, 2-15) 85-73. Njardvik is placed at 2nd position in Icelandic Subway League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Njardvik will need more victories to improve their 12-5 record. Rodriguez turned to be Njardvik's top player in her first season with the team. Former University of Utah star has very solid stats this year. Rodriguez is in league's top in rebounds (6th best: 9.6rpg), assists (5th best: 6.1apg) and averages impressive 52.8% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Spanish Marta Hermida (180-G-1997) of U.M.F. Tindastoll. Hermida had a very good evening with 34 points, 3 rebounds and 8 assists. Of course Tindastoll cruised to a 87-79 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked Hamar (#10, 2-15). Tindastoll's 8th position in the standings has not changed. Her team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 6-11 record. Hermida is a newcomer at Tindastoll, but is already one of team's top players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 29.2ppg (#1). Her other stats are also decent: 5.8rpg and 7.4apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Tindastoll's star - American forward Maddie Sutton (180-F-1998, agency: Dagger Basket). Sutton scored 20 points and grabbed 12 rebounds (!!!). She was another key player of U.M.F. Tindastoll, helping her team with a 87-79 win against slightly lower-ranked Hamar (#10, 2-15). The chances of Tindastoll not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 11 games, recording just six victories. With bigger assistance of her teammates, Sutton could try to bring Tindastoll's a little bit higher in the standings. Sutton has individually a great season in Iceland. After 16 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 13.8rpg (#1 in league).
