Dinkins' double-double lands her (Second Stage) Player of the Week award

31-year old Cambodian point guard Brittany Dinkins (170-PG-1994) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's best team U.M.F. Njardvik and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 1 (Second Stage).
She had a double-double of 24 points and 14 rebounds, while her team beat Grindavik (#5, 11-8) 77-66. It allowed Njardvik to consolidate first place in the Icelandic Subway League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier in Second Stage. Njardvik has a very solid 14-5 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. It's Dinkins' second year at Njardvik and it's hard to imagine this team without her. Dinkins has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (2nd best: 24.9ppg), assists (7th best: 5.8apg) and averages solid 55.0% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Kylie Kornegay-Lucas (178-G-2001) of Armann/Throttur Reykjavik. She is American guard in her first season at Armann. In the last game Kornegay-Lucas recorded an impressive double-double of 22 points and 18 rebounds. Of course Armann cruised to a 84-75 relatively comfortable win over Keflavik (10-9). The Second Stage is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Kornegay-Lucas is a newcomer at Armann and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Jada Guinn (173-G-2000) of Hamar (#5). Guinn scored 26 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Despite Guinn's great performance the Hamar lost 79-84 to Stjarnan (#7, 9-10). But her team cannot count on just a single shooter as she also needs help of the other teammates. Hamar can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 3-16 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Guinn has individually a great season in Iceland. After 19 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 23.4ppg (3rd best) and assists with 5.5apg (9th best). Guinn attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on her way to pro basketball.

10. Danielle Rodriguez (177-G-1993) of Njardvik - 14 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists
