Icelandic Division I round 18 best performance: Arna Eyporsdottir (by Hoops Agents)

Forward Arna Eyporsdottir (179-F-2009) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked Fjolnir Reykjavik, receiving a Hoops Agents Division I Player of the Week award for round 18.
The 16-year old player was the main contributor (28 points, six rebounds and four assists) to her team's victory, helping them to outclass, the league's bottom-ranked team Vestri (#10, 0-15) with 40-point margin 107-67. Fjolnir is placed at 2nd position in Icelandic Division I. They are still close to the very top. Fjolnir would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 12-3 record. In the team's last game Eyporsdottir had a remarkable 78.6% from 2-point range. She turned to be Fjolnir's top player in her first season with the team. Arna Eyporsdottir averages this season 14.6ppg and 5.9rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Caely Kesten (175-G-2001) of IR Reykjavik. Kesten had a very good evening with a double-double of 21 points and 13 rebounds. Of course she led IR to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked KV (#9, 2-13) 89-55. This victory allowed IR to move up to 5th position in the standings. Her team lost some distance to top teams. But a 7-7 record is not bad and everything may still change. Kesten is a newcomer at IR, but is already one of team's top players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 23.0ppg (#6). Her other stats are also decent: 7.6rpg and 5.5apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was guard Matilda Maekalle (171-PG-2006) of Vestri (#10). Maekalle scored 16 points and grabbed 16 rebounds (!!!). Despite Maekalle's great performance the Vestri lost 67-107 to the higher-ranked Fjolnir (#2, 12-3). But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates. Vestri can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have awful season losing so far all 15 games. Maekalle has a very solid season. In 7 games in Iceland she scored 2.3ppg.

9. Inga Ingadottir (186-C-2009) of Njardvik 2 - 9 points, 19 rebounds and 4 assists
10. Arndis Davidsdottir (181-F-2007) of Fjolnir - 13 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
