Leilani Kapinus, American guard from the finalist team Fjolnir Reykjavik, was honored as the Player of the Year at the Division I. She graduated from the Vanderbilt last year. Kapinus received multiple other awards, earned the Finals MVP, Defensive Player of the Year, Import Player of the Year, Guard of the Year and was named to the First Team. With Kapinus' excellent performance, the finalist team Fjolnir Reykjavik achieved the best record of the season in the league, finishing with an impressive 15 to 3 in the regular season. Her best performance made her team reach the finals but they unfortunately were defeated by Hamar 0 to 3. Kapinus' exceptional play earned her the third spot in rebounds per game, boasting an impressive average of almost 15. She was the Player of the Week honoree 8 times during the 25 26 campaign. Kapinus led the Division I in points per game with over 27. She has totalled 19 games of 20 or more points on the year and recorded 30 or more points in 9 games. Kapinus registered double-doubles in 18 games at the event. Her 37 points against Thor AK Akureyri were the most she scored in the 25 26 season. The best players in the league are US college alumni. Just on the list of the top 10 best scorers we have 7 out of 10 players, who had college careers. Chloe Wilson, American forward from the Thor AK Akureyri, picked up the Forward of the Year of Division I. She Is the Delaware alumna from 2025. Wilson also earned a spot in the First Team. With Wilson's excellent performance, the Thor AK Akureyri achieved the best record of the season in the league, finishing with an impressive 14 to 3 in the regular season. She received Player of the Week award 6 times during the 25 26 campaign. Wilson orchestrated her way to the third spot in points per game, showcasing a dazzling average of over 26 and second position in averaging almost 15 rebounds per game. She has totalled 17 games of 20 or more points on the year and had 30 or more points in 5 games. Wilson recorded double-doubles in 17 games at the event. Her 40 points against the Fjolnir were the most she scored in the 25 26 season. The best players in the league are US college alumni. Just on the list of the top 10 best scorers we have 7 out of 10 players, who had college careers. Darina Khomenska, 19-year old center from the Athena-UMFK Reykjavik, was named the Center of the Year at the Division I. She was also voted to the First Team. With Khomenska's excellent performance, the Athena-UMFK Reykjavik achieved the best record of the season in the league, finishing with an impressive 17 to 1 in the regular season. Khomenska averaged over 13 points and almost 9 rebounds per game in the league. She has totalled 2 games of 20 or more points and logged double-doubles in 3 games on the year. Khomenska's 22 points against Njardvik 2 were the most she scored in the 25 26 season. Jada Smith, 28-year old American swingman from the Athena-UMFK Reykjavik, was selected to the First Team of Division I. She Is ex-Clarion from 2023. With finesse and precision, Smith claimed the fourth position in points per game, delivering a stellar over 25 points per game average. Smith also registered over 7 rebounds per game that season in the league. She has totalled 15 games of 20 or more points on the year and notched 30 or more points in 4 games. Smith recorded double-doubles in 6 games at the event. Her 32 points against the Snaefell were the most she scored in the 25 26 season. The best players in the league are US college alumni. Just on the list of the top 10 best scorers we have 7 out of 10 players, who had college careers. Iho Tobi, 28-year old Spaniard forward from the Thor AK Akureyri, was chosen to the First Team at the Division I. She Is alumna of the Florida State from 2020. Tobi registered 12 points per game over the season in the league. She led the Division I in rebounds per game with over 15. Tobi had double-doubles in 7 games at the event. Her 17 points against the Vestri were the most she scored in the 25 26 season. Tobi's college team made it to the Spanish Cup final in 2022.
