Moscarella's 32-point, 11-rebound eruption powers Costa Masnaga to Serie A1 promotion-May 17, 2026
CLV-Limonta Costa Masnaga punched their ticket to the Techfind Serie A1 on Sunday, overwhelming Polisportiva A. Galli San Giovanni Valdarno 95-81 in a decisive Game 3 at home behind a devastating 32-point, 11-rebound performance from Marta Moscarella (185-F-2007).
After losing Game 2 following a second-half collapse Costa Masnaga had led 27-10 in that contest before conceding a 53-26 swing across the middle quarters coach Facundo Bereziartua's side made sure there would be no repeat. They led 25-19 after the first quarter, 45-42 at halftime, and then blew the doors off with a 33-20 third-quarter explosion that extended the lead to 78-62 and removed all doubt.
Marta Moscarella was irresistible, connecting on 9-of-12 from two-point range and 3-of-7 from three while adding 5-of-8 from the free-throw line, seven turnovers forced, and four assists. Patricia Brossmann (185-F-1997, college: San Diego) complemented her with 18 points (2/5 3PT, 6/6 FT), 10 rebounds, and five assists. J. Teder orchestrated from the point with 16 points (4-of-8 from three), eight assists, and just one turnover, while Nancy N'Guessan (179-G-2003) grinded out 13 points (8-of-10 FT) and six turnovers forced despite shooting struggles. Giulia Olandi (175-F-2008) added 10 off the bench with three triples.
As a team, Costa Masnaga shot 47 percent from two (14-of-27) and 47 percent from three (15-of-32) a combined 49 percent from the field with 79 percent free-throw shooting (22-of-28). The offensive numbers were championship-caliber across the board.
For Valdarno, Ilaria Bernardi (178-F-2005) led with 20 points, eight rebounds, and six assists on 7-of-15 shooting. Flavia De Cassan (176-F/G-1998, agency: SLN) added 18 (4/7 2PT, 7/8 FT), Kenko Ngamene (182-C-2004) had 14 and seven rebounds, and Noemi Celani (183-F-2003) contributed nine points and seven rebounds. But the visitors were outshot from every area of the floor and had no answer for Costa Masnaga's third-quarter onslaught.
Faenza storm Villafranca to snatch Serie A2 promotion in dramatic road Game 3-May 17, 2026
E-Work Faenza seized the final promotion spot from Bracket 1 with an 88-84 road victory over Ecodent Alpo in a decisive Game 3 on Sunday, overcoming a hostile environment and a 25-point Alpo effort from S. Serena Soglia (186-C-2000) to earn their place in Techfind Serie A1 for 2026-27.
Alpo had won every home game in these playoffs and taken Game 1 of the series on this same court, making Faenza's road triumph all the more impressive. The visitors controlled the first quarter 23-15 behind sharp three-point shooting, but Alpo roared back with a 24-12 second period to lead 39-35 at halftime. The third quarter was Faenza's masterpiece a 30-20 burst that flipped the game decisively as the visitors stretched to a 65-59 advantage. Alpo outscored Faenza 25-23 in the fourth but could not erase the deficit.
Marianna Zanetti (190-C-2008) anchored Faenza with 19 points and a game-high 14 rebounds (13 defensive), providing the interior presence that kept Alpo at bay in the paint. Alessandra Cosaro (168-PG-2008) added 17 points on 6-of-8 from two-point range, while Lilli Onnela (183-SF-2006) the series' most consistent performer had 16 points (7-of-8 FT) and five rebounds. Emilie Brzonova (181-F/G-2006) contributed 14 and Sara Ronchi (184-F-2003) had 13. Martina Guzzoni (180-G-2006) added five points and six rebounds in a key supporting role.
For Alpo, who had home-court advantage throughout the playoffs, Francesca Parmesani (176-F-1998) posted 23 points and eight rebounds on 11-of-21 shooting. Serena Soglia had 19 points, 13 rebounds (10 offensive), but shot just 6-of-18 from the field. Antonia Peresson (176-G-1995, college: Georgia Tech) who had dominated the series with consecutive 25-point games was held to 10 on a brutal 3-of-18 shooting night. Alice Gregori (181-SF-2000) added 13 but Alpo's 34 percent team shooting (22-of-64) ultimately cost them.
