Reggio Emilia welcomes back Caupain, ex Trabzonspor

- November 2, 2026

POSTED BY: Eurobasket News

Unahotels Reggio Emilia (Serie A) landed 30-year old American 193cm point guard Troy Caupain (college: Cincinnati, agency: LHZ Sport Agency). It is actually his comeback to Reggio Emilia as he has played here before. He already started the season at Trabzonspor in Turkish BSL league. In 5 games he averaged 8.6ppg, 3.4rpg and 4.0apg. He also played 3 games in Basketball Champions League where he had 11.7ppg, 2.0rpg and 3.3apg. The last season season he played at Unahotels Reggio Emilia. The team played in three different competitions (!!!) that year, and he was exposed to basketball on different levels. Caupain also played 32 games in Italian Serie A where he recorded 15.0ppg, 3.9rpg, 5.4apg and 1.1spg.
He is a very experienced player. Caupain has played also professionally in Belgium (Oostende), France (SIG Strasbourg), Germany (ratiopharm Ulm), Israel (Hapoel Holon), Spain (UCAM), Turkey (Darussafaka), NBA (Portland Trail Blazers and Orlando Magic), Italy (Maxima Roma and Udine), NBA G League (Osceola Magic), NBA Summer League (Washington Wizards) and The Basketball Tournament (Nasty Nati).
Among many awards he played in the final of Spanish League in 2024. He was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Turkish League Honorable Mention back in 2022.
Caupain graduated from University of Cincinnati in 2017 and it is his tenth season in pro basketball.
