Best players of Italian Serie A round 6 (by Hoops Agents)

Experienced American-Slovenian Mike Tobey (213-C-1994) had an amazing evening in the last round for Tezenis Scaligera Verona and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 6.
The 32-year old center had a double-double of 27 points and 15 rebounds, while his team lost the game against Varese (#6, 4-2) 88-99. Verona moved-up to the 11th position in Italian Serie A. Verona is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. But it was their 3rd lost game this season out of 6 games. In the team's last game Tobey had a remarkable 91.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be Verona's top player in his first season with the team. The University of Virginia graduate has very impressive stats this year. Tobey is in league's top in points (7th best: 18.2ppg) and averages solid 90.9% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American point guard Aaron Holiday (184-PG-1996) of Maxima Roma. Holiday impressed basketball fans with 28 points, 3 rebounds and 6 assists. Of course he led Roma Max. to another comfortable win outscoring the higher-ranked Trento (#4, 4-2) 88-62. Despite this victory Roma Max. slide down in the standings to 7th position. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 3-3 record is not bad and everything may still change. Holiday is a newcomer at Roma Max. and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Jahmi'us Ramsey (190-SG-2001) of top-ranked Gevi Napoli Basket. Ramsey scored 28 points. He was a key player of Napoli, leading his team to a 99-81 easy win against the lower-ranked Venezia (#8, 3-3). Napoli confirms their top position in the standings. Ramsey has a great season in Italy. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.5ppg (9th best).
