Sorokas' double-double lands him Serie A2 Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

33-year old Lithuanian forward Paulius Sorokas (203-F-1992, agency: Players Group) put on an amazing game in the last round for second-ranked Fortitudo Flat Service Bologna and receives a Hoops Agents Serie A2 Player of the Week award for round 32.
He had a double-double of 19 points and 22 rebounds, while his team edged out Pesaro (#1, 24-9) 86-84. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Fortitudo maintains the 2nd position in Italian Serie A2. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Fortitudo will need more victories to improve their 22-11 record. Sorokas turned to be Fortitudo's top player in his first season with the team. Sorokas has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (6th best: 17.6ppg) and averages solid 55.6% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Alessandro Gentile (201-G/F-1992) of Urania Basket Milano. He is international swingman in his second season at Milano Urania. In the last game Gentile recorded an impressive 26 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Of course he led Milano Urania to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Puglia (#16, 10-22) 110-86. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Milano Urania dropped in the standings to 14th position. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 14-19 record. Gentile is well-known at Milano Urania and he already established his position as one of the team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.0ppg (#9). His other stats are also decent: 6.6rpg and 4.6apg.

Third place about best performers goes to swingman Lorenzo Bucarelli (198-G/F-1998) of league's leader Carpegna Prosciutto Basket Pesaro. Bucarelli showcased his all-around game by recording 14 points, 5 rebounds and 13 assists (!!!) in the last round. Despite Bucarelli's great performance the Pesaro lost 84-86 to #2 ranked Fortitudo BO. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Pesaro needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 24 victories and 9 lost games. Bucarelli has a great season in Italy. After 32 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 5.8apg (4th best).

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
