Powell's double-double lands her Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

American Forward Paige Powell (188-F) put on an amazing game in the last round for United Basketball and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2.
She had a double-double of 39 points and 20 rebounds, while her team beat Trepca (#7, 0-2), the league's bottom-ranked team 89-83. United is placed at 5th position in Kosovan Superliga. United is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 1-1 record. Powell turned to be United's top player in her first season with the team. Winthrop University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Powell is in league's top in points (2nd best: 29.0ppg), rebounds (3rd best: 15.0rpg) and averages solid 2.0bpg and 3.0spg.

Second best performed player last round was Shaniya Jones (176-G-1999) of Junior 06 Moni Bau Prizren. She is American guard in her first season at Junior 06. In the last game Jones recorded an impressive double-double of 43 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as Junior 06 lost that game 71-105 to Prishtina (2-0). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Jones is a newcomer at Junior 06 and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 36.0ppg (#1). She also registered 9.5 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to swingman Nija Collier (183-G/F-1999) of league's leader KBF Prishtina. Collier showcased her all-around game by recording 20 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists in the last round. She was a key player of Prishtina, leading her team to a 105-71 easy win against Junior 06 (#6, 0-2). Prishtina has a very good start of the season. But there were just 2 games played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Collier also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. Collier has a great season in Kosovo. After only 2 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 16.0rpg (2nd best) and assists with 5.0apg (7th best).
