Pazudusas held Cesis to an opponent 22.5 percent shooting from the field compared to 25.3 percent accuracy of the winners. Pazudusas forced 20 Cesis turnovers and outrebounded them 60-41 including 20 on the offensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Pazudusas made 8 blocks. 24 personal fouls committed by Cesis helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Luize Septe (180-1999, college: S.Florida) who scored 11 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Ivanda Hudjakova (185-1998, college: Mount Olive) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Patricija Amolina (172-2008) who recorded 19 points and 6 rebounds. Cesis' coach Reinis Rudzitis rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Pazudusas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Cesis will play on the road against Jurmala and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Ventspils was also worth to mention about. Audentes (0-3) played at the court of Ventspils Spars (1-2). Ventspils Spars did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 86-68. It was a good game for point guard Martina Bertane (173-2004) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 16 rebounds and 8 assists. Katrina Petersone contributed with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Ventspils Spars' coach Reinis Ziemelis allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Estonian forward Nora-Liis Veisberg (178-2008) answered with 21 points for Audentes. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
The game with biggest result difference took place in Jurmala. Local Jurmala (2-0) outscored Audentes (0-3) 63-43 on Saturday night. Worth to mention a quality performance of Marta Petersone who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Jurmala's coach Kaspars Boze used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Jessica Ristimets with 13 points and 7 rebounds. Jurmala will meet at home Cesis (#4) in the next round. Audentes will have a break next round.
