Best players of Latvian RNBL round 5 (by Hoops Agents)

Davis Klegeris (185-G-1997) had a very impressive game in the last round for Salaspils Sporta skola and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents RNBL Player of the Week award for round 5.
The 29-year old guard had the game-high 43 points adding eight rebounds for Salaspils in his team's victory, helping them to beat Bertanu (#10, 0-3), the league's bottom-ranked team 94-88. Salaspils is placed at 7th position in Latvian RNBL. Salaspils is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 1-2 record. In the team's last game Klegeris had a remarkable eleven three-pointers out of 17 attempts. He has many years of experience at Salaspils, through which he has constantly improved. Klegeris has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (4th best: 20.3ppg) and averages solid 46.9% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young forward Raitis Spels (196-F-2006) of BK Saldus. Spels impressed basketball fans with 25 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. Bad luck as Saldus was edged by slightly lower-ranked Talsi (#9, 1-3) 127-124. This loss caused Saldus to drop to 7th position in West. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 1-2 record. Spels is one of the most experienced players at Saldus and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.0ppg (#5). He also registered 8.3 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Estonian Kristaps Miglinieks (196-G-1990) of BK Grobina (#3). Miglinieks scored 27 points and grabbed 15 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Grobina, leading his team to a 90-86 win against the lower-ranked Kekava (#8, 1-3). Grobina needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams in West. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 1 lost game. Miglinieks has a great season in Latvia. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.5rpg (4th best).
