Sarah Mgbeike claims Liga Unike weekly honour

American Sarah Mgbeike (185-F) had an amazing evening in the last round for Prishtina and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 1.
The forward had a double-double of 27 points and twenty one rebounds, while her team lost the game against the league's best team Tirana (#3, 1-0) 88-93. Prishtina moved-up to the 6th position in Liga Unike. The season is still in it's early stage, so the team may have a chance to improve their current position in the standings. They lost 1 games and had no victories. In the team's last game Mgbeike had a remarkable 68.8% from 2-point range. She turned to be Prishtina's top player in her first season with the team. Our Lady of the Lake University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Mgbeike is in league's top in points (2nd best: 27.0ppg), assists (6th best: 6.0apg) and averages solid 2.0bpg,3.0spg and 68.8% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young shooting guard Klea Verri (169-SG-2001) of Tirana. Verri impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 32 points and 10 rebounds. It was enough for Tirana to edge Prishtina (0-1) by 5 points 93-88. Her team has extremely good start of the season. They won their first game. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Verri is one of the most experienced players at Tirana and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 32.0ppg (#1). Her other stats are also decent: 10.0rpg and 5.0apg.

The third best performed player last round was Arbnore Perquku (176-G-1988) of Bashkimi (#4). Perquku showcased her all-around game by recording 22 points, five rebounds and seven assists in the last round. Despite Perquku's great performance Bashkimi lost 70-82 to #1 ranked Flamurtari. The season just started for Perquku as she played only first game. But it already looks like she can be team's leader.
