Asianae Johnson claims Liga Unike weekly honour

American Asianae Johnson (173-G) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's second-best KBF Prishtina and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 6.
The guard had the game-high 25 points adding three rebounds and five assists for Prishtina in her team's victory, helping them to crush Partizani (#6, 1-5) with 16-point margin 81-65. Prishtina maintains the 2nd position in Liga Unike . They are still close to the very top. Prishtina would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 5-1 record. Johnson turned to be Prishtina's top player in her first season with the team. Mississippi State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Johnson is league's best scorer averaging so far 22.2ppg. Johnson is in league's top in assists (5th best: 4.8apg) and averages solid 2.8spg and 54.8% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was American forward Lycia Peevy (188-F) of Penza Peja. Peevy impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 26 points and 14 rebounds. Of course she led Penza to another comfortable win outscoring slightly higher-ranked Tirana (#3, 2-3) 89-68. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Penza consolidated its place in top 4 of the standings. Her team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 2-4 record. Peevy is a newcomer at Penza and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.2ppg (#3). She also registered 9.7 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was another Penza's star - Saranda Daci (190-C-1993). Daci scored 18 points and grabbed 13 rebounds (!!!). She was another key player of Penza Peja, helping her team with a 89-68 easy win against #3 ranked Tirana. The chances of Penza not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 4 games, recording just two victories. With bigger assistance of her teammates, Daci could try to bring Penza's a little bit higher in the standings. Daci has individually a great season in Liga Unike. After only 6 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 8.5rpg (9th best).
