Zalgiris - Neptunas 91-89
Zalgiris repeated as the King Mindaugas Cup winners. They nipped Neptunas in the championship game tonight to earn the sixth straight title.
It was a tough game for the Kaunas team. Zalgiris trailed by 4 points ten minutes into the game. They managed to narrow the deficit at 2-point mark at the interval 45-43. Zalgiris poured in 25 points in the third period to pull within one point. Zalgiris however went on a strong rally in the final quarter to gain an 86-79 lead late in regulation. Neptunas erased the deficit but Deividas Sirvydis (204-G/F-2000) responded with two points to ice the win for Zalgiris. Ignas Brazdeikis (201-G/F-1999, college: Michigan) finished with 20 points, while Sylvain Francisco (185-PG-1997) added 16 points for Zalgiris. Desure Buie (182-G-1997, college: Hofstra) replied with game-high 23 points for Neptunas.
