Plunges Olimpas (NKL) signed 24-year-old 210cm center Matas Macijauskas for the upcoming season. He last played at Neptunas in the LKL. LKL was too high of a level for him, as he only averaged 0.9ppg in 11 games last season. NKL will be a better match for him, and he should see more playing time. He helped them reach the Lithuanian NKL final and Cup semifinals. Macijauskas also played 9 games in Eurocup, but only averaged 0.8ppg.
He represented Lithuania at the World University Games in Rhine-Ruhr (Germany) last year. His team won Bronze and he averaged over 6 points per game.
Macijauskas has played previously for eight other teams: Atletas, Jonava, Nevezis, Vilnius, Ezerunas, BC Rytas Vilnius 2nd team, Sostines KM I-EMSI U18 team, and Rytas.
