Chitevan number one in Moldova Superleague for round 5

Forward Alexandru Chitevan (210-F-1989) had a very impressive game in the last round for SS Riscani, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5.
The 37-year old player had a double-double of 34 points and 11 rebounds, while his team in a lost game to Titan (#8, 1-3) 69-76. Riscani moved-up to the 9th position in Moldovan Superleague. They are still not able to win a single game in the league yet. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked at the very bottom. They already lost 4 games and recorded no victories. Chitevan turned to be Riscani's top player in his first season with the team. Alexandru Chitevan has solid league stats. He is league's best scorer averaging so far 31.8ppg. Chitevan is in league's top in rebounds (4th best: 9.3rpg).

The second best player in last round's games was young Maxim Iastremschii (206-C-2005) of league's second-best SS1 BK Balti. Iastremschii had a very good evening with a double-double of 18 points and 15 rebounds. Of course he led Balti to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Straseni (#7, 1-3) 90-68. Balti's second position in the standings has not changed. His team lost just one game this season, while they won 4 matches. Iastremschii is a newcomer at Balti, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Balti's star - guard Nichita Cusniriuc (178-PG-2007). Cusniriuc scored 24 points and passed 4 assists. He was another key player of SS1 BK Balti, helping his team with a 90-68 easy win against the lower-ranked Straseni (#7, 1-3). Cusniriuc has a very solid season. In 5 games in Moldova he scored 15.6ppg.
