EBL Play-Off's Finals: Buducnost wins 10th Championship in a row after the closest final series ever - May 9, 2016

Buducnost is the new-old champion of Montenegro! Even though this will not sound like a surprise it is also important to point out that this was the closest final series ever. All four games could have gone either way and this give us hope that basketball in Montenegro will again be a popular sport like it used to be. Tonight Buducnost opened the game well, got plus 9 lead after the first quarter then plus 12 at the halftime and when the hope started leaving the building Mornar bounced back and made the game close again. The last quarter was really interesting to watch as Mornar almost tied the score (72-73) but then happened what nobody in Bar expected- Vasilije Bacovic (206-C-96) who spent few minutes on the floor made two wide open threes and pretty much decided the winner. Mornar's players were shocked and did not find a solution to get back in the game so the final score was 85-76 for Buducnost.

Bojan Subotic (203-F-90) and Julius Jenkins (187-PG-81, college: Georgia South) led the winners with 16 points each. Subotic also added 9 rebounds. Aleksa Ilic (205-F-96) had another great performance with 14 points before he fouled out in 4th quarter. On ther other side Lamont Jones (183-G-90, college: Iona, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) led his team with 18 points but he had a slow start (only 4 points in 1st half). Marko Mijovic (188-PG-87) stepped up and helped Jones as scorer in some parts of the game. He scored 16 points and overall had a solid performance.
