Vigor Skopje defends the title by beating Biljana 007 in three straight games - May 16, 2009
Vigor - Biljana 78-44
Vigor has won its seventh title in the club's history after beating Biljana 78-44 in the playoff Finals. Just as expected the team from Skopje dominated during the entire series winning by large margin in each game on their way to sweeping team from Ohrid. Still this last game will be remembered for very unusual conditions in which it was played. During the halftime, the roof of the arena started to leak because of the rain which has been falling heavily in Skopje. This has caused 20 minute delay for the start of second half. Once the rain stopped and the match could continue, players came out to find the court which was fairly wet. They were able to continue the contest and it was luck that no one got hurt in such conditions. Still, from the opening quarter it was clear that Vigor is on its way to defend the title. They took 8 point lead by the end of first quarter as result was 20-12. In the second they extended that lead to 15 points going into the halftime with 38-23 lead. Then came the delay, which obviously did not affect the hosts as they continued their dominance in this game. At the end of third quarter the score was 56-35. In the last quarter it seemed that Biljana player have come to terms with their faith as they scored only 9 points while their opponent poured in 22. For Vigor, Zorica Ackovska (171-G-88) led the way with 18 points. Aleksandra Sekulovska added 16 while Ana Zivkovik (183-F/C-87) finished the game with 15. For the visitors Vesna Balazoska (172-G-81) also had 18 points and she was supported by Elena Miladinoska (-88) who added 14.
