Prva A Liga Round 6 (Regular Season): Derby game ends with Badel's defeat of Vardar

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Skopje: Badel (#3) and Vardar (#4). Badel (4-1) won against visiting Vardar (3-3) 70-64. Badel have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Vardar at the other side keeps the fourth place with three games lost. They share the position with Ohrid. Badel is looking forward to face league's leader Kriva Palanka on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Vardar will play against Patriot and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Ohrid (3-3) against fourth ranked Shkupi (4-2) on Saturday night. Visiting Ohrid was defeated by Shkupi in Skopje 50-34. Shkupi moved-up to third place, which they share with Rinia. Ohrid at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Vardar. Shkupi will play against Ponikva (#8) in the next round where they are favorite. Ohrid will play against Janbor (#7) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Prva A Liga top team - Kriva Palanka (5-0) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed sixth ranked MZT (2-4) in Skopje 104-68. Undefeated Kriva Palanka have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 5-0 record. Loser MZT keeps the sixth place with four games lost. They share the position with Gostivar. Kriva Palanka will meet at home Badel (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. MZT will play against the league's second-placed KAM Basket in Kamenica and hope to secure a win.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 6: Sport Tim smashed Janbor on the road 79-44. Patriot destroyed Probasket on its own court 82-59. Gostivar was outscored by Rinia in a road game 84-57.

They moved-up to third place, which they share with Shkupi. Gostivar at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the sixth position with four games lost. They share it with MZT. Rinia will meet league's second-placed Sport Tim in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Gostivar will play against the league's leader Struga 2009 (#1) and hope to secure a win.

Shkupi - Ohrid 50-34
