Hempe re-signs at Zaragoza

Merritt Hempe

Casademont Zaragoza (LF Endesa) confirmed in their roster 31-year old American (has also North Macedonian passport) forward Merritt Hempe (190cm-1994, college: Georgia) for the upcoming 2025-26 season. She played there last season, managing to play in three leagues in two countries. In 7 LF Endesa games, she had 11.0ppg and 4.1rpg, helping them reach the Spanish League final. Hempe also played for Olympiacos Piraeus in the Greek league, participating in three different competitions that year. She played 25 games in Greek A1, recording 14.4ppg, 5.0rpg, and 1.6apg, contributing to her team's Greek League title and cup win. In 2024-25, she was named to Eurobasket.com All-Greek A1 Second Team. Additionally, she contributed to 5 games in Euroleague, averaging 13.4ppg, 5.4rpg, 1.2apg, and 1.0spg. Hempe has been regularly called to the North Macedonian Senior National Team since 2022.
She is a very experienced player. Hempe has played professionally in Germany (ChemCats), Greece, Russia (Kazanochka), Turkey (Nesibe), Spain (Valencia, Ensino, Cadi La Seu, and Casablanca), and Czech Republic (USK Praha).
Among many awards, she was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Spanish LFB Honorable Mention back in 2020.
She graduated from the University of Georgia in 2016, and it will be her tenth season as a pro player.
