China fire past Puerto Rico in Xi’an

China claimed the second win at the Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Xi’an. The hosts crushed Puerto Rico as both teams qualified for Paris 2024. Li Meng (185-F-1995) stepped up with 23 points, while Li Yueru (201-C-1999) added 22 points and 23 rebounds to pace the home side.
China jumped to a 24-11 lead ten minutes into the game. They sank 30 points in the second period to gain a 20-point halftime lead 54-34. China followed with a massive 33-8 rally in the third period to clear off for good. Xu Han (208-C-1999) delivered 11 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Arella Guirantes (181-PG-1997, college: Rutgers) answered with 27 points for Puerto Rico.
