Erika Davenport gets MVP of the Week award for Polish OBLK

American Erika Davenport (186-PF-1997) had a very impressive game in the last round for league's leader SKK Polonia Warszawa and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5.
The 29-year old power forward had a double-double of 20 points and 17 rebounds, while her team edged out Bydgoszcz (#13, 0-5), the league's bottom-ranked team 81-78. It allowed Warszawa to jump to the first place in the Polish OBLK. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Warszawa already had a very good start winning all 4 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Davenport had a remarkable 72.7% from 2-point range. It's her second year at Warszawa and it's hard to imagine this team without her. Marquette University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Davenport is league's best scorer averaging so far 23.0ppg. Davenport is in league's top in rebounds (3rd best: 13.0rpg) and averages solid 3.3spg and 68.6% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Filipino Jack-Danielle Animam (190-C/F-1998) of second-ranked Energa Polski Cukier Torun. Animam impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 18 points and 20 rebounds. Of course Torun cruised to a 93-82 relatively comfortable win over Bochnia (4-1). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Torun consolidated its place in top 2 of the standings. Her team lost just one game this season, while they won 4 matches. Animam is a newcomer at Torun and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Taylor Williams (188-F-2001, agency: LBM Management) of Wisla Krakow (#10). Williams scored 16 points and grabbed 21 rebounds (!!!). She was a key player of Krakow, leading her team to a 77-73 win against slightly higher-ranked Lodz (#8, 2-2). Krakow can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 1-4 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Williams has individually a great season in Poland. After only 4 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 15.3rpg (2nd best).
