Ovarense is the 3 time portuguese champions
In game 7 ,game of every decisions Ovarense won easily the game that got them the 3rd straight champion(Portugal Telecom did the same from 2000-2003) and their 4th champion in Ovarense entire history.
5000 persons in Dolce Vita Arena-Ovarense court ,witnessed the closure of a great series of basketball and the end of LIGA UZO as next season teams will compete in FPB organization.

Porto in the 1st half did 13 turnovers(17in total),couldnt score ,either grab rebounds something they always did in the previous 6 games .
Nuno Marcal did 2-15 in shots just to leave a idea that everything went out in Porto, at the end of the game he said 'Impossible was to do any worse than what we did today'.

Score by partials- 1st quarter(17-6) , 2nd quarter (38-21) , 3rd quarter (58-36) , final score 70-49.

In Ovarense Graham Brown (205-C-84, college: Michigan) was the MPV of the game and the MPV ( 15 pts and 11 rebounds) of this finals (averages of 14.4pts per game ,9.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 0.9 blocks), John Waller stronger in the 3 point shots did 13 points in the game ,Miguel Miranda important in the rebounds area with 8 and for Porto only Julian Terrell did something with 15 points and 18 rebounds.

Manuel Povea after the game said'We defended really well, during the season we suffered alot with injuries players such as Ben Reed, changes of coaches and systems of work,i came to Portugal to grow as a coach and im really happy with this win'.

Alberto Babo,Porto coach congratulated Ovarense but also their own players ,we couldnt score today he also added.

Ben Reed that coudlnt contribute for the team in the final due to a injury said he knew his teamates could do without him ,he trusted them and we still won he said.
Miguel Miranda said the same injury problems they had and many people doubted they could do it but they did.

Deserved win for the best team in game 7 .

Taca de Portugal final (result) Portuguese cup
Unbelievable!!!, Ovarense won the Final after beat Porto 65-64. Porto has a lot to deal itself, they commited the same mistakes that Ovarense has, they didn't took advantage on the inoumerous missmatch ocoured in the game, they tokk many shots from outside when they had great advantages inside, they played on a very slow pace, and even then when at 1,50mn of the final buzzard lead by 7 points, watch practilly numb to a glorious come back (the third in a row in their 3 matches... it seems like a classical finish from Vitoria...) of their opponents. After the game the words of coach Alberto Babo (Porto) clearly symbolizes he's idea': 'we've done many things wrong, and some of them inexcusables, I don't wanna say nothing more now, because I'm very close to the game itself', for his side coach Fernando Sa (Vitoria) was also very clear by saying that: ' I could only dream of this victory in my dreams', really a dream come true, but achieved in perfectly awekness. In vitoria John Winchester (193-G-83, college: Robert Morris) played all game as if he was in a black hole, but Pedro Azevedo (193-F-81) and their star player Tommie Eddie (201-F/C-82, college: Mississippi) (game MVP with 27 points and 11 rebounds) pull the team up and lead them to the success. In Porto Frederick Gentry was the only who played as expected, with 16 points and 7 boaeds, but Paulo Cunha (199-G/F-80), Nuno Marcal (205-F-75) and specially Joao Figueiredo (183-G-79) were far beyond their level, and that made the team fall back as was not expected. Congratulations to Vitoria for it's first Taca de Portugal, a perfectly deserved title.

FC Porto wins the Portuguese League Cup
In a thrilling game of defense, FC Porto managed to beat Ovarense, 67-64, with a 3 PT-shot by Frederick Gentry on OT as they won the 19th League Cup edition which was held in Vagos. Porto had Nuno Marcal (205-F-75) as MVP as he scored 23 points. The game was levelled all way long, but Porto manged a 55-52 with one minute remaining in the first quarter. After a 8-second violation, Ovarense got the ball and Greg Stempin equalized with a long shot, as Joao Figueiredo and Marcal couldn't manage to score the decisive basket. In overtime, both teams missed free throws, and after Ben Reed scored just one to put 64-64 with 8 seconds remaining, Fred Gentry got the ball from Figueiredo and scored a 3 Pt-shot as the time expired.
In semifinals, FC Porto destroyed CAB Madeira 58-80 as the island team scored just 5 points in the second quarter and 9 in the third as FC Porto did great defense. In the other game, Ovarense and Lusitânia were levelled in the first half, time for the champions to build a 10-0 run. However, as Gerson Monteiro and Miguel Salvador got Lusitânia just 4 points behind, Ben Reed came with a fantastic 3 Pt-shot with one minute remaining and gave Lusitania no hopes to get into the game again (90-83).

  Champions Cup day 7
Ovarense won the trophy, they beat Belenenses 82-61. Before the final Porto won against Barreirense 77-66 and get the third place. The final showed nothing that wasn´t expected. Ovarense was too strong for a tired Belenenses who spend most of it´s strenght the day before when they get to win over Porto. The capacity of getting good and important players in the bench was one of the reasons that made Ovarense the Liga champions last season, this year and for what was saw today it seems that things are running on the same track. Cordell Henry (176-G-80, agency: Naiditch Entertainment, college: Marquette) (Ovarense) was as so many times the power boost that Ovarense needeed to spear things up, as his team Henry seems to be prepared to a great season like the last.
