Zibert number one in Slovenia SKL for round 1

Guard Urska Zibert (174-G-1993) had an amazing evening in the last round for second-ranked Odeja KED Skofja Loka, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 1.
The 31-year old player got a double-double of 20 points and 10 assists, while her team beat Jezica (#7, 0-1), the league's bottom-ranked team 77-66. Thanks to this victory Odeja KED moved-up to the 2nd position in Slovenian SKL. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Odeja KED won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. It's Zibert's second year at Odeja KED and it's hard to imagine this team without her. Urska Zibert has solid league stats. She is in league's top in points (2nd best: 20.0ppg), rebounds (7th best: 6.0rpg) and averages impressive 60.0% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Brazilian Thayna Silva (180-F-1996) of league's leader ZKK Cinkarna Celje. Silva had a very good evening with 21 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course she led Celje to another comfortable win outscoring Ilrija (0-1) 82-56. Her team has extremely good start of the season. They won their first game. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Silva is a newcomer at Celje, but is already one of team's top players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.0ppg (#1). She also registered 8.0 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Odeja KED's star - center Manca Vesel (185-C-2001). Vesel scored 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds (!!!). She was another key player of Odeja KED Skofja Loka, helping her team with a 77-66 win against Jezica (#7, 0-1). Odeja KED has a very good start of the season. But there was just one game played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Vesel also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. The season just started for Vesel as she played only first game. But it already looks like she can be another team's leader.
