Very significant was Celje's (#1, 6-0) victory against 4th placed Odeja KED (2-3) 94-42. Celje dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Odeja KED's 30. Celje forced 29 Odeja KED turnovers and outrebounded them 48-26 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Brazilian center Leticia Soares (185-1997, college: San Diego) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. International point guard Lea Bartelme (178-2005) helped adding 15 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side center Manca Vesel (185-2001) responded with 10 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Undefeated Celje (6-0) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with a perfect record of 6 victories in a row. Odeja KED at the other side keeps the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Ilrija. Celje are looking forward to face Ilrija (#4) in Ljubljana in the next round. Odeja KED will play at home against Maribor and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Ljubljana supposed to be also worth to mention about. Second ranked Triglav (4-2) played at the court of 5th ranked Jezica (2-4). Triglav smashed Jezica 87-56. It was an exceptional evening for forward Manca Vrecer (178-2002) who led the winners and scored 22 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Lena Grebenc accounted for 14 points and 7 rebounds. Hana Ovcina (182-2005) came up with 15 points and 5 rebounds for Jezica in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Triglav maintains second place with 4-2 record having just two points less than leader Celje. Jezica at the other side dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. Triglav will play against Maribor (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Jezica will play against Odeja KED in Skofja Loka and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
In the last game of round 7 bottom-ranked Domzale was destroyed by Ilrija on the opponent's court 78-59.
