Young number one in Slovenia SKL for round 13

American Forward Nylah Young (180-F-2001, agency: LBM Management) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for AJM Maribor, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 13.
The 23-year old player had a double-double of 32 points and 17 rebounds, while her team in a lost game to Ilrija (#3, 7-4) 68-76. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Maribor maintains the 4th position in Slovenian SKL. Maribor is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. But it was their 6th lost game this season out of 11 games. Young turned to be Maribor's top player in her first season with the team. Former College of William & Mary star has very solid stats this year. Young is league's best scorer averaging so far 20.9ppg and leads league in rebounds with 9.1rpg. Young Worth to mention Young played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped her get the job in pro basketball.

The second best player in last round's games was young Bosnia and Herzegovina Jana Guska (193-C-2005) of Akson Ilirija Basketball. Guska had a very good evening with a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds. Of course Ilrija cruised to a 76-68 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked Maribor (#4, 5-6). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Ilrija consolidated its place in top 3 of the standings. Her team's 7-4 record is not bad at all. Guska is a newcomer at Ilrija, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was guard Urska Zibert (174-G-1993) of Odeja KED Skofja Loka (#5). Zibert scored 24 points and passed 7 assists. She was a key player of Odeja KED, leading her team to a 71-69 win against slightly lower-ranked Domzale (#7, 1-9). The chances of Odeja KED not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 7 games, recording just three victories. With bigger assistance of her teammates, Zibert could try to bring Odeja KED's a little bit higher in the standings. Zibert has individually a great season in Slovenia. After 10 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 14.5ppg (7th best) and assists with 5.5apg (2nd best). She also has 2.4spg and a FGP of 52.8%.
