Soares number one in Slovenia SKL for round 19 (by Hoops Agents)

Brazilian Center Leticia Soares (188-C-1997) had a great game in the last round for top-ranked ZKK Cinkarna Celje, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 19.
The 27-year old player was the main contributor (20 points, seven rebounds and five assists) to her team's victory, helping them to outclass Maribor (#3, 11-7) with 46-point margin 100-54. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Celje to consolidate first place in the Slovenian SKL. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. It's already very far into the season and Celje keeps a perfect 18-0 record. In the team's last game Soares had a remarkable 85.7% from 2-point range. She turned to be Celje's top player in her first season with the team. Former University of San Diego star has very solid stats this year. Soares is in league's top in points (3rd best: 16.5ppg), rebounds (8th best: 6.5rpg) and averages impressive 65.5% FGP and 43.8% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was another Celje's star - young Brazilian Thayna Silva (180-F-1996). Silva had a very good evening with a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds. Of course together with Soares she helped ZKK Cinkarna Celje with another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Maribor (#3, 11-7) 100-54. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Celje consolidated its place in the very top position of the standings. She plays for the best team in the league and Celje managed to win all 18 games keeping a perfect record. Silva is a newcomer at Celje, but is already one of team's top players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.6ppg (#2). She also registered 8.1 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was guard Yeisy Perez (172-SG-2002) of ZKK Domzale (#7). Perez showcased her all-around game by recording 16 points, 11 rebounds (!!!) and 5 assists in the last round. Despite Perez's great performance the Domzale lost 60-92 to the higher-ranked Triglav (#2, 12-5). But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates. Domzale can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 3-15 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Perez has individually a great season in Slovenia. After 15 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 7.7rpg (4th best) and assists with 3.9apg (6th best). She also has 2.3spg and a FGP of 53.8%.
