The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Maribor (3-1) on the court of leader Celje on Friday night. Visitors were rolled over by Celje 107-79. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Maribor. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Celje made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Maribor turnovers. Celje looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. stepped up and scored 14 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners and American forward Yaubryon Chambers (185-2001, college: Tenn Tech) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. American forward Destiny Thompson (180-1997, college: Georgian Court) responded with 22 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Celje have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 4-0 record. Maribor at the other side keeps the second position with one game lost. They share it with Ilrija. Celje are looking forward to face Triglav (#4) in Kranj in the next round.
