Hannah Riddick gets MVP of the Week award for Swiss SBL

Canadian Hannah Riddick (185-F-2003) had an amazing evening in the last round for BCF Elfic Fribourg Basket and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 6.
The 23-year old forward had a double-double of 34 points and 17 rebounds, while her team beat Geneve (#4, 3-2) 94-87. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Fribourg maintains the 3rd position in Swiss SBL. They are still close to the very top. Fribourg would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 4-1 record. Riddick turned to be Fribourg's top player in her first season with the team. The University of Tulsa graduate has very impressive stats this year. Riddick is in league's top in points (5th best: 22.4ppg), rebounds (4th best: 10.6rpg) and averages solid 58.5% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was American guard Leilani Kapinus (177-G, agency: LBM Management) of second-ranked Baden Basket 54. Kapinus impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 25 points and 14 rebounds. Of course she led Baden to another comfortable win outscoring Pully (#9, 0-6) 107-50. Baden's second position in the standings has not changed. Her team lost just one game this season, while they won 4 matches. Kapinus is a newcomer at Baden and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.4ppg (#6). Her other stats are also decent: 12.4rpg and 4.2apg.

The third best performed player last round was American Kylie Lavelle (188-F-2004) of Helios VS Basket (#5). Lavelle got into 30-points club by scoring exactly 30 points in the last round. She went also for fifteen rebounds . She was a key player of Helios, leading her team to a 83-77 win against Troistorrents (2-3). The chances of Helios ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 3 games, recording just two victories. With bigger assistance of her teammates, Lavelle could help Helios to bring them higher in the standings. Lavelle has a great season in Switzerland. After only 5 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 27.2ppg (2nd best) and rebounds with 10.8rpg (3rd best).
