Kapinus number one in Switzerland SBL for round 8

American Guard Leilani Kapinus (177-G, agency: LBM Management) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked Baden Basket 54, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
The player had a double-double of 25 points and 19 rebounds, while her team outclassed Helios (#6, 2-5) with 27-point margin 93-66. Baden maintains the 2nd position in Swiss SBL. They are still close to the very top. Baden would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 6-1 record. In the team's last game Kapinus had a remarkable 85.7% from 2-point range. She turned to be Baden's top player in her first season with the team. Former Vanderbilt University star has very solid stats this year. Kapinus is in league's top in points (2nd best: 24.6ppg), assists (6th best: 4.4apg) and averages impressive 4.3spg and 71.8% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Swedish Anna Holmberg (188-F-2000) of BCF Elfic Fribourg Basket. Holmberg had a very good evening with 30 points and 2 rebounds. Of course she led Fribourg to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Aarau (#8, 1-6) 95-72. Fribourg's 3rd position in the standings has not changed. Her team lost just one game this season, while they won 6 matches. Holmberg is a newcomer at Fribourg, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was South Sudanese forward Nyamer Diew (188-F-2001) of league's top team Nyon Basket Feminin. Diew scored 27 points and grabbed 11 rebounds (!!!). She was a key player of Nyon, leading her team to a 87-72 easy win against the lower-ranked Troistorrents (#7, 2-5). Nyon confirms their top position in the standings. The season just started for Diew as she played only first game. But it already looks like she can be team's leader.
