Manisa Buyuksehir Belediye Spor (BSL) added to their roster 23-year old French guard Hugo Besson (191cm-91kg-2001) for season 2024-25. Besson played this summer at Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA Summer League. He managed to play in four leagues in three countries last year (!!!). In four NBA Summer League games just recently he recorded 7.8ppg, 2.3rpg and 3.3apg. The last season he played at Openjobmetis Varese in Italian Serie A where in 10 NBA Summer League games he averaged 12.5ppg, 3.5rpg and 2.9apg. Besson also played 4 games in FIBA Europe Cup where he had 13.5ppg, 3.5rpg and 3.8apg. The other team he played that season for was KK FMP SoccerBet Beograd in Serbian league. In 15 NBA Summer League games he got 13.9ppg, 3.4rpg and 2.2apg.
Two years ago he was drafted by Indiana Pacers (NBA) in second round (58th overall).
He was a member of French U20 National Team in 2021.
Besson has played previously professionally in Australia (Breakers) and France (Metropolitans, Saint Quentin, Chalon/Saor, Antibes and Chalon/Saone).
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he received Eurobasket.com All-French ProB Best Young Player of the Year award and Eurobasket.com All-French ProB Domestic Player of the Year award back in 2021.
