Burhaniye Belediyesi (TKBL) signed 31-year-old American 196cm center Shelby Cheslek (college: Gonzaga, agency: LBM Management) for the upcoming season. She last played for Correcaminos in the Mexican LNBPF, where she averaged 5.1ppg, 6.1rpg, 1.7apg, and 1.0spg in 18 games. Prior to that, she played for Forssan Alku in the Finnish league.
She is a very experienced player. Thanks to pro basketball, she experienced life in nine different countries playing on four different continents. Cheslek is familiar with European, Latin American, Australian, and of course North American leagues. She has played professionally in Australia (Diamond Valley Eagles and Pirates), Finland, Greece (Niki Lefkadas and Dafni Agioy), Hungary (PINKK-Pecsi), New Zealand (Hoiho), Puerto Rico (Montaneras), Spain (Ferrol), and Turkey (Fenerbahce).
Cheslek graduated from Gonzaga University in 2016 and it'll be her ninth season in pro basketball.
